With "The Whisper" Germany based artist Spoq explores an unheard retro sci-fi-esque sonic realm filled with epic and intense athmosphere. The 15 tracks find a breath taking balance between dark and brooding beauty, but at times also uplifting yet warped pop melodies backed with massive beats and percussion. Synth Wave, Down Tempo and retro film soundtrack influences full of crackling and bending analogue electronic instruments meet cinematic, experimental sound design. This music shows its own unique style, that defies genre definitions. Spoq uses common popular Wave elements, breaks them apart and transforms them in futuristic ways to open up vast, impressive spaces. This album could easily be the futuristic soundtrack of a neo noir Science-Fiction movie. You can almost see the rain reflecting neon lights. "The Whisper" is a powerful, twisted and beautiful composition that will reward anyone who is dares to take the ride.
