The album "Awe" is a cinematic trip deep into a multi dimensional, melancholic but also oddly cheerful sonic world. Spoq shows with twelve new tracks a capability of in-depth emotional instrumental storytelling like few other electronic music artists. "Awe" is rather quiet and subtle textured instrumental music that plays with common Chill-Hop, Trip-Hop and Glitch elements only to break up with cliches and add unexpected drama. Both the playlist but also the organic tracks themselves charm the listener into a comfortable, familiar place, while layers of devastating sadness and outbursts of pure joy sneak up on tippy-toe around the corner. This also can be noticed in the choice of instruments. Rarely has the combination of sampled hip-hop and even indie drums, funky basslines, string instruments, horns and winds all at once with sharp synth glitches sounded so fresh and deceiving at the same time. Writer and producer Wolfram Gruss crafted this album carefully over the course of two years and took inspiration from - or rather processed - the intense emotional roller coaster that we all went through since the Pandemic started. "Awe" wants to be enjoyed. It does not need any kind of explanation and does not want to make a statement. Yet, the music undoubtly reflects on the melancholy of isolation, the depression about losses, the moments of hope and fear or the joys of temporal escapism and dreams.

Wolfram Gruss has been writing, producing and composing acclaimed and awarded electronic music since 1994 and released thousands of pieces of music. His tracks have already appeared on hundreds of releases on independent and major record labels as well as in motion pictures and TV. Over the years he has gained a virtuous level of skill which he uses to express a seemingly endless well of creativity. Spoq is his playfully artistic outlet and straight-from-the-heart project.

Sweet, but bites.

Spoq is genre bridging electronic music made by Wolfram Gruss from Aschaffenburg, Germany. Slightly experimental, sometimes quirky, occasionally overly dramatic, but most of the time pretty chill.
