about

Fun, but emotional Future Garage, hyper modern and deep Down Tempo electronica and slightly odd but cheerful, almost poppy Chill-Hop, all tied together by Spoq's unique, organic sound: this is "Cotton Blade". The album features eleven genre bridging instrumental electronic music tracks that showcase a unique freshness. Spoq's unusual narrative compositions cycle through emotions in a suprising and always dynamic matter. Even though the tone is generally rather cool and extremely stylish, carefully placed moody moments can turn around into an almost blunt happyness. The arrangements play sometimes with cliché old school samples and vibes just to break them with crispy state-of-the-art sound design. What makes this album such a pleasant listening experience is its edgyness. "Cotton Blade" is an artistically fine production, but it does not take itself so seriously. The deeper you dive into it, you can not help but be amazed by the enormous amount of layers and rewarding complexity of the music.
Wolfram Gruss, the producer behind spoq has been writing and composing acclaimed and awarded electronic music since 1994 and released thousands of pieces of music. His tracks have already appeared on hundreds of releases on independent and major record labels as well as in motion pictures and TV. Over the years he has gained a virtuous level of skill which he uses to express a seemingly endless well of creativity. Spoq is his playfully artistic outlet and straight-from-the-heart project. about

Spoq Aschaffenburg, Germany

Sweet, but bites.

Spoq is genre bridging electronic music made by Wolfram Gruss from Aschaffenburg, Germany. Slightly experimental, sometimes quirky, occasionally overly dramatic, but most of the time pretty chill.
